VSM: Vibration Sensing Monitors protect industrial engines, compressors, and associated equipment from damage caused by excessive vibration.
The new 32-bit microprocessor-based electronic instruments accept up to four or eight industry-standard broadband, piezoelectric vibration sensors. They are used to transform mechanical vibrations into electrical signals which are then evaluated by VSM. Resulting levels are displayed and compared to user-adjustable setpoints. If a high vibration level surpasses setpoint value, an indication is shown on the LCD, and an output switch -- one for alarm and one for shutdown -- is activated.
