854 Servo level gauges like this are now equipped with Servo Auto Test feature. It’s approved for Safety Integrity Level-2 and 3 applications and is said to increase gauge diagnostic coverage.

During inventory control and custody transfer in bulk storage, the updated gauge are designed to deliver high-accuracy level measurements.

New patent pending Servo Auto Test may be used in overfill protection loops requiring SIL-2 or SIL-3 to prevent spills and to comply with safety or environmental standards. It can also be loaded onto all existing 854 Servo units with a simple software patch.

Increased level gauge diagnostics allow failure detection inside the instrument or in the application and report to higher-level systems for further action to mitigate possible mechanical failure.
