Lockable, reusable covers made to control confined spaces

Confined Space Control Covers are announced to give you “100% control of confined spaces.”

These lockable and reusable covers are designed for petrochemical facilities but may also be employed in refineries, pipeline facilities, on platforms, or at bulk terminals. They’re designed to “benefit any industry where OSHA defines a confined space,” declares the maker.

CSCCs are simple and easy to use. They require minimal training to be incorporated into current lockout/tagout procedures. The covers comprise fire and chemical-resistant coated fiberglass mesh fabric to withstand up to 1,000°F.

They incorporate a strap inserted in the outer sleeve with a 1/2-in. grommet running cover length. The straps pull the cover around a manway and tighten in place. The grommets are then exposed for an operator to join them on each end and to install a lock. The cover’s facing includes an OSHA-mandated-and-approved DANGER-Confined Space sign. It withstands constant and direct UV for years. You also have the option of custom verbiage on each sign.

CSCC is custom made to fit all shapes and sizes. Basic designs: solid water-resistant type and mesh-faced ventilated version where proper airflow is vital. Each weighs about 2 lb and can be rolled up or folded into the size of a roll of paper towels for easy carrying and storage.
