A new line of industrial Ethernet media converters feature real-time compatibility.
They are announced to “provide the ideal solution for a highly reliable, robust data exchange between copper and fiber optic media.”
The converters are recommended for process, plant engineering, energy distribution, and factory automation — where high interference or long transmission distances are common. The fiberoptic cables are unaffected by lightning or voltage surges.
The instruments give you the ability to integrate glass fibers into a network while remaining transparent to other network devices. They convert the Ethernet, via RJ45 port, to an optical port with SC or ST glass fiber connections. Link Fault Pass-Through technology employs mechanical relay outputs to alarm on power failure and port breakages on either fiber or Ethernet ports.
