Oil, gas, petrochem IR flammable gas detector
New IREX infrared flammable gas detectors replace pellistor (catalytic bead) types to deliver faster response times and greatly reduced zero drift, it's announced. They are specifically designed for oil, gas, and petrochemical applications to detect methane, butane, propane, and many other hydrocarbons.
IREX is said to provide T90 response time of less than 7 sec. Because it operates from the same control systems as pellistor-based detectors, IREX allows existing pellistor-based systems to be easily upgraded. This is without any of the costs associated with installing a new control system, declares IREX's manufacturer.
Sophisticated systems and algorithms ensure reliable detector operation at all times -- with no adjustments ever necessary to the instrument itself.
